Caught Alfie with Meiyi and Xiuzi today at GWC. Average show, didn’t really meet my expectations. We agreed that the show seemed more catered for guys than girls. Jude Law is just eye candy for the rest of us who bother to sit through the whole show. Think Xiuzi felt kind of cheated haha. Had she known it, she would have caught the show on TV at home and not in the cinema on a weekend :p As for me, can’t say I’ve got my feminist validation out of the film but oh well, at least I had a kick out of seeing the miserable state of the poor fella towards the end. Bad bad me? Well, it’s zero compassion for people who don’t quite deserve it.
While some parts of the show were quite funny, it seriously didn’t tell us anything that we don’t already know about men. *rolls eyes* Okay, won’t generalize here -> men who see themselves as God’s gift to women.
Lets face it, this disgusting species is running wild in the streets. Perhaps the world would be a prettier place to live in if these self-absorbed fellas can take up some enlightening lessons from Alfie, the self-professed super womanizer.
Lesson #1: Don’t be too full of yourself. Think you’ve got everything and women should fall naturally at your feet? Get a reality check. Not every woman is in love with you.
Lesson #2: Don’t fool and screw around. What goes round comes round. And honestly, you haven’t got enough gall to face up to the consequences.
Lesson #3: Don’t be so bloody superficial. Go beyond the face, boobs and bums aka FBB. We know you don’t think with your brain but that doesn’t mean we haven’t got one.
Lesson #4: Don’t act like you’re the victim in a relationship when you are the one kicking the poor woman out into the streets in the rain.
Lesson #5: Don’t come crawling back after a break-up. It’s pathetic and we are not gonna take you back.
Lesson #6: Don’t be an idiot and learn how to make your own bed!!
Yup, so to the male species out there, the lessons are not to teach you how to be the next Don Juan. They are lessons to knock you on the head and to give you a wake-up call. Have fun watching and laughing at yourselves? Don’t cry at the end though.
So looks like Alfie is quite a good teacher after all.
I was going to watch Alfie. Thot it was going to be nice. but then now maybe not. I am suffering from Chinese movie deprivation syndrome. argh. btw, what do u want for ur bday? n... i mgiht be a bit late sending it cos well.. got to settle my hse stuff first.. and get my money too.. haha.. more stuff toys? hehe
Shhhh...now everyone knows i'm getting older! :p Dun need pressie lah,our xmas gifts can be cum birthday one also hahaha. Card maybe,ooh can get me one of those pop-up types,they are so cute :)
