Dug into this month’s issue of Harper’s Bazaar. Saw a couple of new ads. The Chanel one looks very good with its simple and subtle class. Especially like the new series of “As the River Flows” print ads for Hermès. The use of movement in the ads makes you almost able to feel the sensuality of the materials. It leaves a strong impression. But probably like the river, it runs deeper than that – it makes you want to go with the tide and get one of their classic scarves. Well done. No Birkins for me though,not quite my style yet hah.
My cute girly profile pix *points --> to the top right corner* is from the new Tangs + Co New Luxe ad. Big eyes,long lashes and straight blonde hair. Haha,who am I kidding. But like it all the same so it’s up there now **grins** May decide to use it as my msn avatar too,so you can talk to her soon :)
Wedges are so hot this season. All the brands are fighting to put theirs on the shelves. Since it’s spring/summer all year round in S’pore,maybe should consider investing in a pair. And they will do well for short people like myself haha.
This month’s feature piece pays tribute to women in their 40s. The editor gave a very good round up in her opening letter. I quote:
“If the 20s are a period of self discovery, experimentation and carefree spiritedness, then the 40s are women’s second lease of life. It’s the physical,mental and emotional boost that these baby boomers now experience at about the same time as men are slipping helplessly into their midlife crisis. Suddenly,these women are in their fifth gear – content,confident and buzzing with energy.”
Yeah! Makes you so proud of womanhood huh. Another victory over the male species, and it’s not just about their receding hairlines or beer bellies too. No thanks to Desperate Housewives I believe. Well, the brouhaha over the comedy TV series has definitely struck a chord somewhere in women whose most dreaded nightmare is to age and 40 is such a scary figure. Though the plot of the show is pretty intriguing, just feel that the scriptwriters stretched the bizarre relationships a little too thin. Not exactly a big fan myself but tuning in mainly for the whodunit in the end. Yup,give me SATC any time and screw the Golden Globes.
