In literature class last week,we read a short story titled 10 Years Deducted by Chen Rong. The story basically tells of how the characters got all excited upon hearing that they are going to have 10 years deducted from their age. Like a 39-year-old person becomes 29 again. All these because they felt cheated of their time during the Cultural Revolution. If they can have the 10 years back,there are many things that they want to accomplish. Such is the mood of the society at that time. But of course the story is a fallacy because it’s simply not possible for everyone to go back 10 years in time.
Our lecturer then asked us if we can have the option of choosing to be 10 years younger today,would we want it? So now I’m putting forth the question to you. Would you want to be 10 years younger now? Why or why not?
