some dreams live on in time forever
those dreams, you want with all your heart
and i will do whatever it takes
follow through with the promise i made
put it all on the line
what i hoped for at last would be mine
if i could reach,higher
just for one moment touch the sky
from that one moment in my life
i am gonna be stronger
know that i have tried my very best
i would put my spirit to the test
if i could reach
some days are meant to be remembered
those days we rise above the stars
so i will go the distance this time
seeing more the higher i climb
that the more i believe
all the more that this dream would be mine

Seldom, very seldom does complete truth belong to any human disclosure; seldom can it happen that something is not a little disguised,or a little mistaken.

When we were on the train platform last night, Annie told us about a not-so-good day at work. How it led her to ponder for a while the meaning behind what she is doing now,as well as feel a bit jaded about the so-called nature of people. I guess many of us have moments when we are at the receiving end of harsh treatment and we wonder if our existence on Planet Earth is really that insignificant. Seriously,no one deserves to feel like crap.
Perhaps we can’t make such moments go away. Unfortunately. But I like to think it doesn’t have to be perpetuated by us as well. If we look at our own lives and behaviors, how many times these days have we been ‘nasty’ to another fellow human being. Maybe you don’t agree with what someone else said or did. Maybe you dislike someone’s attitude. Or heck, maybe you just can't stand the way someone looks. But instead of being critical (and probably all the time cursing and swearing inside), why couldn’t we banish such hateful feelings and think kinder thoughts instead. Sometimes our own prejudices make us behave like this. Sometimes it’s just that we are unhappy inside and even though it doesn’t change things,we decide to make someone else’s day rotten as well. Like why should we bear all the injustice of the world ourselves right? But you know, perhaps it is not just always about us. And hurting others is one of the most despicable acts you can carry out.
Admittedly we can never be saints but I think we can be better people than we are now. Every small bit of effort by each and every one adds up to make a difference. Try to give words of encouragement, speak words of appreciation or hand out compliments to people around you. You never know when it could mean the world to someone. And what goes round, comes round.
